In recent decades, American politics has become remarkably polarized, aggressive and driven by the so-called culture wars. This reached a new level with the Presidency of Donald J. Trump. Following his defeat in the controversial election of 2020, this course analyses the phenomenon of ‘Trumpism’ and asks whether the future offers the prospect of a return to a more peaceful American politics.
