Margaret Simons

Margaret has lived in Reading since the 1980s and has a BA and PhD in history from Reading University. She is a part-time tutor who as well as teaching for the WEA also works for the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education. Her main interest is the social and economic history of the 19th and early 20th century, but she is very interested in local history of Reading and Berkshire. Her general interest in history has broadened her teaching interests to include the history and development of London. She is on the committee of the Berkshire Local History Association, is Secretary of the Berkshire Record Society and a trustee for the Mills Archive.
